Paciano 1 bedroom apartment

This is a lovely one bedroom apartment within an exclusive development of just three properties. It is located within walking distance of the walled village of Paciano, a perfectly restored 13th century medieval village. Outside, the apartment is surrounded by olive groves with stunning views of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. Guests enjoy the use of a fantastic infinity pool (14 x 5 metres).

Inside, the apartment has been lovingly restored, with the owners clearly taking their time to return the property to it's original beauty, with wood beamed ceilings, handmade terracotta tile flooring and working fireplaces.

The owners have also gone to great lengths to ensure guests have use of all the mod cons you could want with SKY TV, CD player and WIFI internet access. The property is also fully air conditioned and, for those staying in the winter, it has underfloor heating and a lovely fireplace as a central feature in the living room. A hairdryer is provided as are toiletries on arrival.
Guests staying at the property receive a very personal level of care and attention from the owners who live nearby. The owners will be more than happy to show guests around the old wine cellar at their farmhouse. The cellar contains more than 2000 bottles of carefully chosen wines and champagnes. Wine tastings can be arranged in the cellar. Alternatively, guided tours of wineries in Tuscany and Umbria can also be organised.
They can also provide an olive oil tasting session with a variety of olive oils, including their own organic extra virgin olive oil, which will help you to better understand the different flavour characteristics and how these are compatible to different foods.
In addition, the owner also runs cookery lessons, showing guests how to prepare a typical Umbrian meal using their organic produce, fresh from the garden.
This really is a very special place to stay.
The apartment is a good sized property with an open plan living and dining area which leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of work space and is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. There is also a lovely modern bathroom and double bedroom.
There is a communal laundry room for the use of all guests.

I can't speak highly enough of the properties - both Fontanaro and Tartagli and of the wonderful family who made our holiday very very special...

Paciano is a very special little village in Umbria and made even more so by the warmth, hospitality and friendship shown by Lucia and Alaina during our 10 day stay at their Tartagli property just up the hill from Fontanaro - with spectacular views. The weather wasn't at it's best last week when we were there but we were invited to Fontanaro for lunch with Lucia and Alaina, we made pasta and strudel together, visited the magnificent wine cellar, met some locals and experienced the real lifestyle of this tiny medieval village. The village is for those who want absolute peace and quiet but there's plenty to do in nearby villages and the scenery is just brilliant!
