The property dates back to the 1700s and was originally an old convent. It's still possible to get a feel for the history of the building, with many original features such as the stone flooring having been carefully preserved. To enter the property, you need to go through the private walled gardens and then through the large wooden doors of the masseria.
On entering the property you come into an entrance hall with stunning ceiling. Guests move through into a good sized, traditional kitchen equipped with oven, hob and dishwasher. This is a real working kitchen in keeping with the age and style of the property. There is then an open plan living and dining area with a separate snug area. The living room is extremely spacious with leather armchairs and sofas as well as a round dining table that can be extended to seat up to 8 guests, whilst the snug is small and cosy. It has a large semi circular window that brings in lots of light and through which guests can see a massive original press sat within a charming courtyard area. The first of the five bedrooms is on this floor. This is a double room with ceiling fan. There is a bathroom adjacent to this room.
In total the masseria has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The remainder of the bedrooms are on the first floor of the property. On this floor there is a twin bedroom and double bedroom. The latter has a private balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Both these rooms have an adjacent bathroom. Finally, there is a single bedroom on this floor. Please note that, whilst on the first floor, the single bedroom is on a separate side of the property to the other bedrooms and so is probably not suitable for a young child or those who are perhaps scared of the dark.
The last of the bedrooms is a double bedroom with bathroom housed in a separate building within the grounds. This makes it ideal accommodation for grandparents or for those travelling as part of a wider group but who perhaps want a bit of extra peace and quiet in the mornings!
Also outside is a private kidney-shaped swimming pool. The pool is less than a metre deep throughout and so often works well for those with younger children. There are also lovely lawned areas within the garden as well as mature shrubs and outside seating areas. For those who like to cook outdoors, there is a built in pizza oven and BBQ outside that guests are welcome to use.
Please note that the housekeeper lives in one of the outbuildings set within the grounds of the masseria.
