Villa in Provence
Guests enter the villa into an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The yellow and cream kitchen is traditional, equipped with oven, hob, toaster, kettle and dishwasher. A wooden table seats up to 8 guests whilst there is also a comfortable living space with corner sofa. Doors lead from here to a small terrace area equipped with table and chairs for four as well as some more relaxed seating. The views from the terrace are incredible, stretching across the valley. Moving through the property, there are three bedrooms on this floor. Two of these bedrooms face the front of the property and enjoy the same wonderful views over the valley. Both these rooms have double beds and fitted wardrobes. The third bedroom is adjacent and is a twin room. Fans are provided in each of the bedrooms. Opposite these rooms are 2 bathrooms, one equipped with a shower and the other with shower, sink and toilet. There is also a separate WC on this floor.
A narrow flight of stairs leads from this floor to a small single bedroom. This room almost has the feel of being in a monastery with small square windows. It's an ideal room for older children or an adult.
A set of stairs also leads from the main floor of the house to a lower level. Here there is a small living area with double sofa as well as a triple bedroom with both double and single bed. There is also a second living area on this floor, accessed either externally or via the bedroom. This living area is also fitted with air conditioning. (Please note that the rest of the villa does not have air conditioning.) This area has a large comfortable sofa arranged opposite a flat screen TV. A selection of DVDs are provided along with a range of board games. There is a dining table seating six in this room as well as a second kitchen. Please note that whilst this is a working kitchen, it is not equipped with cutlery, crockery and utensils as the main kitchen is upstairs. Finally there is another bathroom on this floor with bath as well as overhead shower.
There is also a third kitchen in the property. This is an outdoor kitchen situated to the side of the swimming pool. Equipped with large fridge / freezer, hob and oven, many guests find themselves using this area more than the main kitchen inside the house! A table and chairs seats six and there are also loungers for use by the pool. There is also a WC by the pool and an outdoor shower. The pool itself is small (7m x 3.5m) but is the perfect spot to cool off in. It's also a very sociable pool with a raised seating area running around the perimeter allowing guests to sit and chat whilst cooling off.
The overall feel of the property is traditional - the house was built in the 1970s and some of the furnishings date back to this time - but the owners renovated it in 2016 and have brought it up to date with contemporary furnishings. The bathrooms are all traditional in style.
St Cezaire is a charming village boasting a large supermarket, pharmacy, hairdressers, launderette and bakers as well as a choice of restaurants and cafe bars. The house is situated within the centre of the village making it an ideal option for those who like to be able to walk to restaurants at night or who want to feel part of village life. For those who enjoy walking, then there are numerous hiking trails that start at the foot of the villa and extend for several kilometres along the Siagne River. These routes are spectacular whatever the time of year.
Please note that whilst there is a parking space at the property, it is extremely difficult to access and we would instead advise guests to park in the village and walk down to the property. There is a large car park in the centre of St Cezaire offering free parking which is only a minute's walk away whilst there are also additional spaces within the village.
Please note that the property is built on a hillside and, due to it's elevated position on one side, as well as the sloped paths and a number of steps within the gardens it may be unsuitable for very young children or the elderly or infirm. Rates include linen and towels but exclude a final cleaning and laundry fee of 150 euros.
A 30% deposit is required on booking. The balance of rental payment is due 9 weeks before arrival. Payment is possible in either GBP or euros. Payment methods include direct bank transfer, PayPal or debit / credit card. Please ask for more details.
